Natural Family Planning

God has spoken.

WE ARE DONE!

You might wonder how God spoke to us.

Was it in a still small voice?

Tongues of fire?

An earthquake?

No, none of the above.

He sent us EMILY!

In a simple choice between sanity and more kids, we've chosen to be done.

Today my darling three-year-old emptied a bag of veggie chips.

On the toilet seat.

We might be a little off here, but we do not usually serve
chips on the seat of the porcelain throne.

She also flooded the upstairs bathroom, hallway, and downstairs bathroom,
while standing in a waterfall of ice cold water.

TWICE!!!

Yes, seriously, on two separate occasions today!

The last time was after 9:00 p.m. while I was cleaning up after haircuts.

AAAAAAUGH!

Another Day on the Farm

Ever wonder what happens on a day on the farm?

If not, stop reading now.

Still with me?

The soybeans are ready.

Carl was combining them.
Kenton thinks we got almost 60 bushels/acre in this field.

Jamison started drilling after he finished school.

He does a good job.
I think he was planting barley as cover crop this winter.

They finished chopping for the year so Kenton was cleaning up the chopper.
Davis was providing moral support

and playing in the dirt pile.

As for the pit, the walls are being formed up.

They put the outside forms up,

are working on tying the rebar in,

and then the inside forms will go up.

The forecast says snow this week.

They may wish they'd been more diligent in getting this done earlier
instead of wasting a couple weeks of nice weather.

The girls(and Davis) enjoyed playing in the sunshine.

Jamison: Mom, I'd like to put my pigeon trap on top of the barn.  Can I climb up the silo and ---

Mom: NO! You may NOT!

These are for my Arizona friend.

Enjoy those roses!
I've got clematis, lavender, and snapdragons...

But only until Thursday when they're forecasting snow.

I guess that means you get the last laugh.  ;-P

Messes

We're slowly finding our groove homeschooling with four students and one agent of destruction running loose.

Kaitlyn and Emily are learning to play together which helps a lot.

Kaitlyn likes bossing and Emily likes entertainment so it works out.

Of course, this means I now have TWO agents of destruction...

instead of just one.

Pictures

GROAN!

That's how I feel about the effort of trying to get a nice family picture.

We had family pictures taken when we were home.  Emily was noticing the pictures on the piano all the time and she wasn't in any of the ones taken with the family.  It was past time to add her in.

After listening to six people whine and moan for the entire 26 mile drive to Hibbing, I was hoping for something better than this.

Megan's moans and groans about "always wearing red for pictures" were heard but I guess I overdid it with the turquoise theme.  You'd think I asked them all to wear clown noses the way they mocked me and my efforts.

My favorite photographer left the studio we like to go to.  We tried a new one.  I wasn't very pleased with the results.  Of all the pictures she took of the kids, this was the best one.  Don't you just love every one's pasty skin color?  And Davis' cheesy smile?

When you get Christmas pictures of a stupid looking family, it's not totally our fault, we had help to look that bad.  Oh, and the kids picked up tons of bug bites from hungry Minnesota mosquitoes and Davis fell down the deck steps the day before.

She promised them that if they cooperated they could take a silly picture when they were done.

I should have just ordered those.

Buyer's remorse has set in.

Ready for Fall

The boys decided to decorate the gator for the season.

I think they're trying to remind us that it's the season to stock up on some treats.

The sign over their heads reads,

"Give us candy"

The Pit

When you pump concrete a long way...

you need a truck with a very long boom

to make your job easier.

You also need an audience.

I believe the pit is 108' in diameter.

The walls will be 12' high.

That's a lot of poop.

Family Comic Strip

Are any words necessary?
