West Virginia

After cards and flowers we headed to WV for the day.

We stopped at the smallest church in the 48 contiguous states.

We stopped at the smallest mailing office.

Apparently their service has already gone the way ours is heading.

We took pictures of goofy kids.

Had a picnic lunch and the "boys" climbed a tree.  It was a nice switch from having them climbing the walls at home.

Visited Blackwater Falls.

Walked around, touched every fascinating item in the gift shop, visited every restroom...and made a few of our own

It was a beautiful day.

With all the general craziness of spring field work, parlor pressure, and adoption waiting we really needed a day to jell again as a family.

Davis was not happy that dad gave him a bit of a wash.

Dad thought it was appropriate.

I hope your Mothers' Day was special, especially my mom and my mother-in-law, two of the best.

  2. That's where I grew up! The town next to Davis- Thomas! Did you try the petting zoo in Canaan Valley? My kids love that place- the owner puts everyone to work feeding the animals. Also, Thomas has THE BEST 4th of July fireworks ever.

  4. We had a big Mothers' Day weekend! Bekah had her Senior Vocie Recital, even tough she's a junior. It was breathtaking! Abby turned 16, and we took daytrips over the weekend. We LOVE Blackwater Falls! Before kids, Paul and I would go there 2 or 3 times a year when we were first married. Loving the posts..hope you all are doing well, regardless of "the wait'. We hope to see you sometime this summer. Will be in touch.
