We felt at peace to move forward. Not that we had all the answers but that God was in it. And, yes, I still worried about all the what if's.
When Emily was so sick in China I was aware that her symptoms were consistent with pressure building in that little brain. The doctor in Guangzhou had the same concern so they ordered a CT scan. The CT scan came back normal. She just had some type of cold/flu.
This week I had Emily to the doctor. He asked the radiologists at the hospital to look at her CT scan.
According to them, hydrocephalus was a misdiagnosis. She NEVER had it.
It looks like Emily's special need was needing a family.
Amazing! Brings tears. God is so amazing!
ReplyDeleteWow, how incredible. You were willing to step out and "take a risk" and look at the great blessing you have as a result....:-) Emily is a special little girl!
ReplyDeleteWoohooo!! Thank you Jesus!! So happy for that misdiagnosis and that Emily is doing better.
ReplyDeleteWhen we adopted Samie from Russia one of her diagnoses was hydrocephalus. We really thought she had it as her head was so large. Our dr told us right away that NO she did not have hydrocephalus that it was ALL brains! And I believe she was right, we have one smart girl.
So happy for your many blessings!
What a miracle!!!! Now, when she hits puberty, she can go through the normal gamut of emotions with her big sisters. ;)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, what a great report! We continue to pray for her adjustment to her new life.

ReplyDeleteI know of three families with that same diagnosis and same results once they were home. I did not want to tell you that in China though because regardless, Emily was yours and perfect and placed by the Lord in your family! But~ I am so happy to hear the good news!! Whoooaaa!! And, she is looking great!! How are you feeling?
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for you all & wisdom for the drs. Are you home from the hospital yet? I'm so sorry this is going on for you. Tho' we don't "get it" sometimes, it's a comfort to know God is still in control! Love you!
